Camping Leader

The Camping Leader Assessment is open to anyone with some camping experience and is ideal for those involved with the Duke of Edinburgh Award and/or Ten Tors training.

Delivered over a single day of assessment with the option to complete an online learning module before attending, our course uses a combination of venues to deliver an experience full of practical tips, advice and considerations for leading and teaching camping skills.  

We aim to make all of our courses enjoyable and informative.  We also have a policy of making reasonable adjustments to ensure that our courses are as accessible as possible.

This is a Mountain Training qualification course and before booking you must:

• Have Registered for the Camping Leader Scheme (Guidance Video).
• Have recorded a minimum 5 personal overnight camps (minimum), at least 2 must be group camps where you assisted with or oversaw the groups. (these may be part of the minimum above if you also camped).
• Hold a current 8hr(or more) First Aid Certificate.
• Be a current and self-sufficient camper.
