Course Details
This course is for walkers wishing to lead others in lowland countryside settings. You will need to be Registered for the Lowland Leader Scheme before booking onto this course.
The two day course covers subjects such as planning and organising walks; navigation; group management; equipment; and the responsibilities that are associated with leading a group. The course is very practical and is conducted in the environment you may expect to take groups. To attend you must have logged 10 quality lowland walks (as laid out in the award handbook) or attend a recognised navigation training course such as Mountain Training\\\'s Hill Skills course.
The course is run on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park, making the best of the stunning scenery and fantastic walking available. Over two days the syllabus will be covered through practical exercises, scenarios and discussions carefully crafted to help you gain the knowledge and confidence to become great walk leader in addition to laying a clear pathway to assessment.
